Utriculaira resupinata is a rootless semi-aquatic carnivorous plant.  They grow in the sandy bottom of shallow ponds.  It grows stolons that produce bladders that attract, trap and digest aquatic microbes in the sand.  Above the sand it forms chlorophyllic leaves.  It shoots up an inflorescence that holds pink ~ purplish flowers.  The small but attractive flower resembles a ballerina in a pink tutu.
